The Château Léoville Barton 1975, from the gravelly soils of Saint-Julien, offers aromas of blackcurrant, cedar and leather. The palate, lively and mineral, reveals an elegant tannic structure. Ideal with braised lamb or a cheese board, this mature wine can still age further.
Château Léoville Barton A family estate rooted in the legendary terroir of Saint-Julien, where Irish heritage meets Bordeaux excellence since the 19th century. - Terroir: Deep gravel and clay-limestone soils of the Saint-Julien appellation, shaping wines of mineral elegance and precise structure. - Vinification: Rigorous tradition, aged in oak barrels for cuvées that are both powerful and refined, faithful to their terroir.
Tasting notes for Château Léoville Barton 1975 To the eye: Garnet red robe with tile-red hues, of a silky density and a brilliance subtly veiled by time. On the nose: Aromas of candied blackcurrant, aged cedar, blonde tobacco and patinated leather, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of damp undergrowth. On the palate: Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long, spiced finish where liquorice and black pepper intertwine. Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1975 A classic Bordeaux vintage, marked by perfect ripeness and a firm tannic structure, ideal for lovers of harmoniously balanced wines. - Ageing potential: Drink now or keep for another 5 to 10 years under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
