Les Bourgogne Mythiques: an exceptional evening where the finest bottles of Burgundy wine come together to form one of the most iconic Oenoschool tastings of the year. Discover the review by Didier Frayssou of this tasting of 18 April 2017 and enjoy our notes on 8 different great wines!

Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er cru Forest 2008 **

The colour is marked. The nose is honeyed and milky with notes of dried fruits and a light oxidation. The palate is powerful, massive, with a beautiful acidity. It appears "much younger" than the nose.

Louis Carillon & Fils Puligny Montrachet 1er cru Les Combettes 2005 ****

A little-evolved robe with a nose of white fruits, candied citrus, floral notes and toasted bread with a hint of sulphur. On the palate, this is a full-bodied wine with a fine acidic structure and very beautiful persistence. We note, however, a slight bitterness linked to the vintage.

Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne 1986 *****

The robe is a deep "old gold" colour. The nose is extremely complex: quince, caramel, bacon, smoky notes... The palate is powerful yet true to the nose. It displays a beautiful refreshing acidity, no bitterness or oxidation... A truly magnificent bottle!

Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne 1998 **

The robe is evolved and the nose oscillates between notes of rancid butter, mushrooms and white fruits. The palate is not very expressive, though noticeably more pleasant than the nose.

Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er cru Champans 1996 ***

A little-evolved robe with an earthy nose of raspberry, developing into floral notes upon aeration. On the palate, the wine is fairly pure but remains somewhat austere, with marked tannins and acidity (characteristic of both the vintage and the domaine). The length is remarkable and the wine should reveal itself magnificently after a long decanting or a few more years of ageing.

Castagnier Clos de la Roche 2007 ****

A slightly evolved robe of low intensity, with a nose of dark fruits (Kirsch, blackcurrant). The palate is fruity with a fine balance of acidity and concentration. A wine that already drinks very well today!

Robert Groffier Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2007 ****(*)

The nose is floral, infused, lightly oaky. The palate is remarkably fresh (dried flowers, raspberry…) with a suave and almost sweet finish.

Domaine de la Romanée Conti Echezeaux 2000 *****

A slightly evolved and hazy robe. A nose of wild strawberry, rose, leather… on the palate, the wine is suave, both sunny and acidic (notes of macerated small red fruits, blood oranges), all supported by a remarkable length on the palate. Good news! Many wines are available for purchase on Vins et Millésimes! The reference online wine shop for mature and old vintage wines! Bottles always 100% and at the best price!
