The large Corton Charlemagne plot is predominantly oriented towards Pernand (a more temperate sector by virtue of its exposure), which gives it, in cooler vintages, a more delicate profile than that of other south-facing Corton Charlemagne. All the estate's plots (15 in white and 2 in red) are located in the communes of Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses. The Corton Grand Cru wine presents floral aromas and tannins of rare subtlety for such a cru; its mouthfeel is delicate and delicious, while this great red wine of Burgundy is destined to age for 10 years and more. In white, the Corton Charlemagne of the domaine Bonneau du Martray delivers, in recent vintages, a pure and expressive approach of ripe citrus, as well as an interesting salinity stretching across a beautiful length. The 2015 is sumptuous and should yield a truly great wine in 10 years. The finest vintages of Corton Charlemagne age with remarkable harmony, such as the 1992 or 1986, which are immense and intense wines, to be recommended for any discerning taster.
