Danjou-Banessy Côtes Catalanes Coste 2023 comes from the Agly’s clay-limestone soils. This pure Macabeu, aged in barrels, offers a mineral palate, yellow-fruit aromas and a peppery touch. Excellent with grilled fish or tapas, it ages gracefully for up to 7 years.
Nestled among the terraces of the Agly, this family estate combines a winemaking heritage with an unwavering commitment to biodynamics. In Espira-de-l’Agly, Benoît and Sébastien Danjou craft wines that let the terroir speak without embellishment.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils dotted with rounded pebbles on the sunlit Côtes Catalanes slopes, where the Mediterranean climate and sea winds shape distinctive minerality.
- Winemaking: Gentle whole-cluster pressing, spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and extended barrel aging to preserve the purity of the fruit and the tension of the terroir.

Appearance – Pale gold with green highlights and crystal clarity.
On the nose – Crisp apple and fresh fennel aromas intertwine with deeper notes of ripe pineapple and green Sichuan pepper, lifted by a saline touch and a subtle mineral smokiness.
On the palate – A lively, precise opening, where taut acidity meets a chalky, saline texture, supported by stone-fruit flavors and a long finish marked by mineral elegance and a hint of anise-like freshness.
Serve at 10–12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to bring out its complexity.
