A young Château L'Evangile benefits from being decanted for one to two hours to allow the wine to open up and reveal its full complexity. It is recommended to serve it between 16 and 18°C in a large Burgundy-style glass, which magnifies its aromas of dark fruits, cocoa and spices. For older vintages — a well-preserved 2000 or 2005, for example — a gentle and brief decanting is sufficient so as not to weaken already silky tannins.
