Where are the vines of Domaine de Montcalmès located and what is their terroir?
Domaine de Montcalmès spans 22 hectares spread across the communes of Puéchabon, Aniane, Saint-Jean-de-Fos, and Saint-Saturnin-de-Lucian, approximately thirty kilometers northwest of Montpellier. These plots offer a great diversity of soils: lacustrine limestone in Puéchabon, rounded pebbles in Aniane, limestone scree in Saint-Saturnin, and clay-limestone in Saint-Jean-de-Fos. It is this mosaic of terroirs that Frédéric Pourtalié vinifies plot by plot before the final blend.
