Château Guiraud 1943, a sweet wine from Sauternes, aged on the clay-limestone hillsides of Bordeaux. This Premier Cru Classé reveals aromas of honey, apricot and soft spices, with a palate that is both rich and lively. Ideal with foie gras or Roquefort for a harmonious tasting experience.
A historic Sauternes estate, classified Premier Cru in 1855, Château Guiraud combines viticultural tradition with a pioneering commitment to organic farming.
- Terroir: Gravelly and clay soils of the Sauternes Appellation, bathed by the Ciron river, which promotes noble rot and wines of rare complexity.
- Winemaking: Manual harvesting through successive sorting passes, barrel aging for a pure and balanced expression of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Château Guiraud Guiraud 1943
To the eye: Golden robe with amber reflections, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance, betraying exceptional ripeness and concentration.
On the nose: Aromas of candied fruits – apricot and fig – mingled with notes of acacia honey, beeswax and a saline touch, evoking the morning mists of the Ciron.
On the palate: A smooth and velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity that brings a mineral tension, while the long and persistent finish reveals nuances of black tea and soft spices.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a Bordeaux-style white wine glass, to release the full aromatic complexity.
