Thibaud Boudignon Anjou 2020, a biodynamic Chenin Blanc grown on schist, combines yellow fruit, white flowers, and chalky minerality. Lively and saline, it is aged in large oak barrels and can be cellared through 2036. Perfect with shellfish or aged goat cheese.
An estate rooted in Anjou, where Chenin Blanc expresses itself with rare precision, shaped by exceptional terroir and a biodynamic philosophy.
- Terroir: Gray schist soils and volcanic rock in Saint-Lambert-du-Lattay, lending distinctive minerality to wines of the Anjou AOC.
- Winemaking: A natural, rigorous approach—indigenous yeasts and aging in Austrian oak barrels—for cuvées of remarkable purity and tension.
Tasting notes for Domaine Thibaud Boudignon Anjou Blanc 'à Françoise' 2020
Appearance: Gold with green highlights and a luminous, silky appearance, suggesting a palate that is both dense and airy.
Nose: Aromas of Williams pear and ripe quince intertwine with notes of linden blossom and acacia, before a saline, chalky touch underscores the bouquet’s complexity.
Palate: A lively, precise opening driven by taut acidity and schist-derived minerality extends into a persistent, saline finish where freshness and depth meet.
Serve at 12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to reveal its full elegance.
2020 vintage
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness and preserved freshness, producing wines with great tension and lovely complexity.
- Aging potential: Enjoy through 2036, provided it is stored somewhere cool, away from light and temperature fluctuations.
