The Belargus Anjou Veau 2022, from Domaine Belargus, expresses the schist soils of the lieu-dit "Veau" in Anjou. This dry Chenin Blanc combines pronounced minerality and precise notes, with a lively and chalky palate. Perfect for cellaring 5 to 8 years, it is sublime with oysters and grilled fish.
Nestled in the heart of Anjou Noir, this biodynamic estate perpetuates a viticultural heritage where the terroir dictates every gesture.
- Terroir: Slate schist and steep slopes of the Anjou hillsides, where Chenin Blanc draws its minerality and tension.
- Vinification: Natural fermentations in barrels, patient ageing to reveal the purity of the fruit and the depth of the soil.
To the eye: Golden robe with green highlights, of silky clarity and promising density.
On the nose: Aromas of crunchy green apple, hawthorn blossom, then acacia honey and flint, with a saline touch in the background.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, supported by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality; the finish stretches at length, carried by a persistent salinity.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to release its nuances.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration respond to one another in harmony.
- Ageing potential: 8 to 12 years, to be kept in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
