The Belargus Anjou Noir 2023 Blanc Magnum from Domaine Belargus, sourced from the schists of the Anjou Noir, expresses Chenin Blanc with purity. Aromas of yellow fruit and flowers, chalky minerality. Lively and silky on the palate, with a precise finish. To be cellared for 5 to 8 years, it pairs with fish and shellfish.
Nestled in the heart of the Anjou Noir, this biodynamic estate rigorously cultivates the heritage of the great schistous terroirs of the Loire. A quest for purity where each parcel tells its own story.
- Terroir : The black schist soils of the Anjou, marked by a chalky minerality, shape Chenins of rare tension and saline depth.
- Winemaking : Slow fermentations in tanks and barrels, without artifice, to preserve the vibrant freshness and natural elegance of the grape variety.
In the glass: a pale golden robe, of a silky clarity, crossed by green highlights that betray its youth and vivacity.
On the nose: aromas of crunchy green apple, acacia blossom and candied lemon intertwine with a saline touch, like a sea breeze over warm schist.
On the palate: a taut and precise texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that extends into a saline and persistent finish.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to unlock its full complexity.
A vintage marked by spring freshness and a dry summer, yielding Chenins of remarkable tension and crystalline purity.
- Aging potential : To be cellared for 8 to 10 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light to reveal all its mineral complexity.
