Nestled in the village of Loché, in the heart of the Mâconnais, Domaine Tripoz is an essential reference for Burgundy wines in biodynamic farming. Led with passion by Céline and Laurent Tripoz, this family estate of fourteen hectares cultivates Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Aligoté and Gamay on exceptional clay-limestone terroirs. Certified Demeter, the estate offers a complete range of white wines, red wines, crémants and sparkling wines, crafted without compromise on quality.
The story of Domaine Tripoz began in 1986, when Laurent Tripoz, the son of sharecroppers and trained as a cabinetmaker, chose to devote himself to viticulture. After two years delivering his harvest to the local cooperative, he produced his own plants in 1987 and established a nursery. He then leased land suitable for vine growing around Loché, a small village in southern Burgundy, and meticulously planted his own plots. The first winemaking took place in 1990: this was the founding act of the estate.
Joined by Céline, the daughter of artists who had returned to the Mâconnais to produce wine and goat's cheese, Laurent built a solid family structure, plot by plot. Convinced by an approach that respects living ecosystems, they eliminated all chemical herbicides from 2001 and certified the estate in Organic Agriculture (Ecocert), then in Biodynamics (Demeter) from the 2006 harvest onwards. The estate now produces around 70,000 bottles per year, sold to private customers, wine merchants, wholesalers and importers around the world.
The vineyard of Domaine Tripoz covers fourteen hectares spread mainly around the village of Loché, renowned for its Pouilly-Loché and Mâcon-Loché appellations. The clay-limestone soils, east-facing, provide ideal conditions for producing great white wines, particularly Chardonnay, the estate's flagship grape variety. The encépagement reflects a genuine commitment to diversity: 75% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir planted in 2000, 2001 and 2018, 10% Aligoté from young plantings between 2018 and 2020, and 5% Gamay.
The vines are cultivated using Demeter-certified biodynamics, with particular care devoted to soil life, plant balance and respect for natural rhythms. The estate practises soil tillage, applies biodynamic preparations and favours a gentle approach, free of chemical inputs. This daily rigour allows the harvesting of perfectly ripe, healthy and expressive grapes that faithfully reflect the mineral and sun-drenched signature of the Mâconnais terroir.
In the cellar, Céline and Laurent Tripoz extend their commitment as engaged winegrowers through respectful, low-interventionist winemaking. Harvesting is carried out by hand, followed by static settling for the white wines. Fermentations are conducted exclusively with indigenous yeasts naturally present on the grapes, without chaptalization or the addition of commercial yeasts. Depending on the cuvée, ageing takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve fruit and freshness, or in oak barrels to add complexity and depth.
Sulphur additions are kept to an absolute minimum: the majority of cuvées receive no sulphite additions whatsoever, while others are bottled with homeopathic doses (around 15 mg per litre). The Crémants de Bourgogne, produced entirely on the estate since the 1999 harvest, receive particular attention: bottle fermentation, extended ageing on lees and carefully controlled dosage for bubbles of great finesse. The estate adheres to the S.A.I.N.S. charter for its sulphite-free cuvées, guaranteeing pure wines that are true to their terroir.
The Bourgogne Aligoté Limone is a lively white wine made from young Aligoté vines planted between 2018 and 2020. Fresh, saline and thirst-quenching, it reveals notes of citrus and white flowers on a taut, mineral palate, ideal as an aperitif or with seafood.
The Mâcon Rouge Les Perrières is crafted from Pinot Noir grown on the stony hillsides of Loché. A supple and fruity wine, it offers a nose of red berries and an elegant, fluid and crunchy palate, best enjoyed with white meats or fine charcuterie.
The Mâcon Rouge Les Graves is a cuvée made from Gamay, the estate's approachable and indulgent expression. A pleasure wine par excellence, it seduces with its juicy freshness, aromas of cherry and raspberry, and a supple finish that invites conviviality.
The Bourgogne Rouge Chant de la Tour is a single-plot Pinot Noir emblematic of the estate. Carefully vinified and barrel-aged, it offers a clear and precise fruit, a fluid texture and a fine-grained structure, in a limpid and approachable expression of Burgundian Pinot Noir.
The Mâcon-Loché Cuvée du Clocher is a Chardonnay sourced from plots surrounding the village's Romanesque church. Fresh on the attack, fruity with notes of pear and white flowers, it evolves on a well-balanced palate with a mineral finish characteristic of Loché's clay-limestone terroir.
The Bourgogne Blanc Les Chênes is a Chardonnay sourced from vines planted near a small oak grove. Tank-aged, it offers a pure, fruity and taut palate — a frank and luminous expression of Mâconnais Chardonnay, free of artifice.
The Mâcon-Vinzelles Les Morandes is a structured and full-bodied cuvée, sourced from Chardonnay on a distinctive terroir. The wine develops aromas of yellow fruits, hazelnut and flint, underpinned by a fine tension and precise ageing that extends the finish.
The Mâcon Bussières Mont Sard is a Chardonnay from the neighbouring commune of Bussières, on the Mont Sard hillside. An elegant and finely chiselled wine, it combines freshness, energy and aromatic delicacy, offering a precise expression of this exceptional terroir.
The Pouilly-Loché Première Réserve is the estate's flagship wine, crafted from 30- to 45-year-old Chardonnay vines planted on clay-limestone and granitic soils. Manual harvesting, indigenous yeasts, fermentation and ageing on lees in oak barrels for twelve months (15% new oak), bottling without fining: this wine unfolds aromas of citrus, almond and exotic fruits, with well-integrated oak and a fine balance suited to cellaring.
