Controlled designation of origin and Fifth Grand Cru Classé in Haut-Médoc
Château Clément Pichon is a cru bourgeois purchased in 1976 by Clément Fayat and located 10 km north of Bordeaux (left bank of the Garonne) next to Château Agassac. The vineyard covers 25 hectares of vines divided among three grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon (62%), Merlot (33%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). These vines, planted at a density of 7,000 plants/ha, rest on a soil composed of coarse gravel on the surface, over a subsoil of iron hardpan. The vineyard is managed using sustainable farming practices and has an average age of 30 years. Indeed, Château Clément Pichon was entirely replanted in 1976 following the arrival of Clément Fayat.

Château Clément Pichon produces two red wines. The first wine is named "the Fine Wine de Clément Pichon" and the second wine of the château is called "La Motte de Clément Pichon". The Fine Wine of Château Clément Pichon offers a garnet robe, an expressive nose of fruit, and a palate that is both crisp on the fruit with peppery and mineral notes. This relatively supple Fine Wine will be enjoyed fairly young, with a peak between 3 and 8 years. The second wine, La Motte de Clément Pichon, represents only 10 to 15% of production depending on the vintage. The best vintages from the estate are 2015, 2014, 2010, 2009 and 2005. The quality-to-price ratio is entirely reasonable and will appeal to lovers of Bordeaux.
