Wine 1992 Bourgogne

The 1992 vintage establishes itself in Burgundy as a generous and approachable year, markedly more accomplished in white than in red, born of a warm season that yielded an abundant and ripe harvest. The whites (Chardonnay) are the true stars: rich, full and seductive, of immediate charm, with fine successes in the Côte de Beaune (Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet) and Chablis. The reds (Pinot Noir), more supple and tender, seduce through their fruit and easy accessibility, in a short-ageing format, with a more consistent success in the Côte de Nuits. The ageing potential is limited, especially for reds made for early enjoyment. Most bottles are today ready to drink. Framed by the modest 1991 and the classic 1993, the 1992 remains a vintage of pleasure, especially in white.
