Ardoisières Vin des Allobroges Argile 2023 Rouge
The Domaine des Ardoisières, based in Fréterive in Savoie, was established in 1998 by Michel Grisard, joined in 2003 by Brice Omont, a Champagne-trained agronomist who now leads this iconic vineyard. Spanning 18 biodynamic hectares, this estate excels in the IGP Vin des Allobroges appellation. The Argile 2023 Rouge cuvée, a still red wine, blends 80% Gamay and 20% Persan from the Saint-Pierre-de-Soucy slope on schistous marl soils, vinified with whole bunches without sulphur and aged for 9 months in barrels.
On tasting, this wine reveals a bright ruby hue and an expressive nose of ripe red fruits, such as cherry, with floral nuances and a mineral touch. On the palate, it delivers a juicy texture, supple tannins, and a fresh finish, marked by pepper and earthy notes. Perfect with a charcuterie board or grilled red meat, the Ardoisières Argile 2023 Rouge captivates with its purity and distinctive Savoyard character.
