The Camille Loye estate, nestled in the heart of the Jura region, is one of the hidden gems of the Arbois appellation. A true icon of traditional winemaking, Camille Loye dedicated his craft to producing wines of remarkable longevity, using meticulous vinification techniques and extended ageing. His carefully preserved old vintages stand as rare witnesses to Jura’s rich viticultural heritage.
The Cuvée Saint Paul 1989 is made from 100% Trousseau, a native Jura grape variety that beautifully expresses its terroir. Grown on marl and limestone soils, this wine underwent prolonged barrel ageing, giving it exceptional aromatic complexity and a refined texture.
After more than three decades of ageing, this wine displays a brick-hued colour, reflecting its graceful evolution. The nose unfolds with aromas of candied red fruits, forest floor, truffle, and delicate spices. The palate is elegant, supported by a still-vibrant acidity and fully integrated tannins. The finish is long and persistent, with notes of leather, tobacco, and a subtle minerality.
This exceptional wine pairs beautifully with game birds, truffle-infused risotto, or aged Comté cheese, highlighting its depth and aromatic richness.
