From the limestone terroirs of Rotalier, Domaine Labet’s Macvin du Jura “Les Exaltés” is a distinctive fortified wine. Blending must with barrel-aged Marc, it reveals fig and rancio aromas. Silky and mineral on the palate, it is ideal as an aperitif or with dessert.
A family estate rooted in Rotalier, where Jura heritage meets a pursuit of authenticity and precision. Since 1974, the Labets have crafted rare wines that balance tradition and innovation on limestone and blue marl soils.
- Terroir: Organically farmed plots over 60 years old, where Chardonnay and Savagnin reveal the Jura’s distinctive minerality.
- Winemaking: Aging under a veil of yeast or in topped-up tanks, with native yeasts and no added sulfur, for single-parcel cuvées of remarkable purity.
Tasting notes for Domaine Labet Macvin du Jura Les Exaltés
Appearance – Golden with amber highlights, dense and silky.
On the nose – Aromas of dried apricot and ripe fig mingle with notes of candied date and clove, before a saline touch and delicate rancio underscore its Jura complexity.
On the palate – A smooth, almost syrupy texture, balanced by lively acidity and chalky minerality; the long, lingering finish reveals nuances of candied fruit and gentle spices.
Serve chilled (8–10°C) in a medium-sized white wine glass to reveal all its elegance.
Non-vintage
A non-vintage cuvée born of a meticulous blend of several years (2018, 2016, 2015 and 2012), each contributing its own character to create a unique harmony.
- Aging potential: Store in a cool cellar away from light; its development will depend on storage conditions.
