The Vieux Pressoir estate, located in Varrains in the Saumur region of the Loire Valley, is run by the Chauvin family, winemakers dedicated to tradition and enhancing the local chalky terroir. Specialising in wines of the Saumur appellation, this estate tends its vines meticulously on tuffeau soils. The Alienor 2022 Blanc cuvée, a still white wine, is crafted entirely from Chenin Blanc, vinified in stainless steel tanks to preserve its freshness and fruity expression, with natural fermentation.
On tasting, this wine reveals a luminous pale gold hue and an expressive nose of green apple, honey, and acacia flowers, with a mineral hint. On the palate, it delivers a round texture, lively acidity, and a saline finish, marked by lemon and flinty notes.
