The Yann Durieux estate, tucked away in Messanges in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits in Burgundy, is led by Yann Durieux, a visionary in natural winemaking. After a decade at Domaine Prieuré-Roch, he founded Recrue des Sens in 2010, managing 3 hectares organically and biodynamically. The LDX L18 cuvée, under the Vin de France appellation, is crafted from Pinot Noir from old vines in the Hautes-Côtes, vinified without added sulphur or filtration, and aged in used barrels, embodying his purist approach.
On tasting, this still wine shows a translucent ruby hue and a captivating nose of raspberry, violet, and gentle spices, with a mineral edge. On the palate, it delivers a light yet profound texture, silky tannins, and vibrant acidity, finishing with red fruit and undergrowth notes.
