The Yann Durieux estate, tucked away in Messanges in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits in Burgundy, is led by Yann Durieux, a visionary in natural winemaking. After a decade at Domaine Prieuré-Roch, he founded Recrue des Sens in 2010, managing 3 hectares organically and biodynamically. The LDX L18 cuvée, under the Vin de France appellation, is crafted from Pinot Noir from old vines in the Hautes-Côtes, vinified without added sulphur or filtration, and aged in used barrels, embodying his purist approach.
On tasting, this still wine shows a translucent ruby hue and a captivating nose of raspberry, violet, and gentle spices, with a mineral edge. On the palate, it delivers a light yet profound texture, silky tannins, and vibrant acidity, finishing with red fruit and undergrowth notes. Perfect with duck breast or roasted vegetables, the Yann Durieux LDX L18 enchants with its natural elegance and precision.
