The Yann Durieux estate, based in Messanges in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits in Burgundy, is led by Yann Durieux, a bold and pioneering natural winemaker. After ten years at Domaine Prieuré-Roch, he established Recrue des Sens in 2010, farming 3 hectares organically and biodynamically. The Night Cost L21 cuvée, under the Vin de France appellation, is crafted from Pinot Noir sourced near Nuits-Saint-Georges. This 2021 vintage, vinified without added sulphur or filtration, undergoes whole-bunch maceration and tank ageing to retain its freshness.
On tasting, this still wine reveals a vibrant ruby hue and an expressive nose of red fruits like raspberry and cherry, accented by floral hints and a touch of spice. On the palate, it delivers a juicy texture, balanced acidity, and fine tannins, finishing with fruity and faintly smoky notes.
