The Yann Durieux estate, settled in the quiet hamlet of Messanges in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Burgundy, reflects the vision of Yann Durieux, a master of natural wines. After refining his craft at Domaine Prieuré-Roch for a decade, he established Recrue des Sens in 2010, managing his 3 hectares biodynamically with rare precision. The GMC L21 cuvée, under the Vin de France appellation, is crafted from Gamay sourced from a Hautes-Côtes parcel. This 2021 vintage, vinified without sulphur or filtration, relies on extended maceration and ageing in used barrels.
On tasting, this still wine shows a light garnet hue and an alluring nose of morello cherry, undergrowth, and gentle spices, with a floral touch. On the palate, it delivers a velvety texture, fine tannins, and lively acidity, concluding with notes of dark fruit and wet stone. Perfect with pork tenderloin or a vegetable tart, the Yann Durieux GMC L21 enchants with its depth and natural character.
