Wines from Domaine Prieuré Saint-Jean de Bébian: buy at the best price
In Pézenas, on the first foothills of the Cévennes in Languedoc, Prieuré Saint-Jean de Bébian is one of the most emblematic and historic estates in the south of France. Founded in 1152 by Benedictine monks around one of the oldest Romanesque chapels in Languedoc, this mythical vineyard of 32 to 35 hectares spans 43 plots of rare geological diversity (clay-limestone, basaltic, Villafranchian rolled pebbles). Acquired in 2008 by industrialist Alexander Pumpyanskiy (also owner of Domaine Ganevat since 2020), managed since 2011 by Benoît Pontenier with the guidance of renowned Jura winemaker Jean-François Ganevat, the estate is today farmed biodynamically, with plot-by-plot vinification and no sulfur. The cuvées (Prieuré Rouge, Prieuré Blanc, Chapelle de Bébian, Cuvée 1152, Le Puits) rank among the greatest names in Languedoc.
