Born into a family of winegrowers, it was in 2001 that Agathe Bursin took over the family estate located in the commune of Westhalten in Alsace. The vineyard covers 6 hectares, of which 0.8 hectare is planted with red varieties: 100% Pinot Noir, and 5.2 hectares planted with white varieties: Gewurztraminer (21%), Muscat à petits grains blancs (6%), Pinot Blanc (8%), Pinot Gris (21%), Riesling (30%), Sylvaner (6%) and other white varieties (8%). The vines are on average around forty years old.

The TOP winemakers of Alsace

More than a third of the family estate is situated on the Zinnkoepflé grand cru, with its limestone and sandstone soils. Domaine Agathe Bursin offers all seven Alsatian grape varieties and produces approximately 35,000 bottles per year. The vines are cultivated using uncertified biodynamic practices. The grapes are harvested by hand. Ageing takes place in tanks for the white wines and in oak barrels for the red wines. Domaine Agathe Bursin produces fresh and dry wines with aromas of lemon and mint. The wines from the Zinnkoepflé are more spicy and floral and have excellent ageing potential.
