The vinifications are plot-by-plot and carried out with great care. Indeed, Patrick Jasmin favours aromatic finesse over power. He thus produces elegant and supple wines, with a very fresh and distinguished aromatic palette that fully expresses the typicity of his terroir. The ageing is long (around 24 months) and handled with great delicacy. Domaine Patrick Jasmin produces very elegant red wines from Côte-Rôtie, which can be considered as models of expression of this magnificent terroir. The estate's wines are very pleasant to drink young, yet they nonetheless possess excellent ageing potential. The Côte-Rôtie "La Giroflarie" from the JASMIN estate perfectly embodies the typicity of this terroir, with a fruity and indulgent nose offering a palette ranging from well-ripened small red fruits to cocoa, with gentle spiced notes in between. On the palate, the wine is delicate, with oak that is present yet well integrated, and fine, silky tannins. The wine plays the card of finesse far more than that of power. Elegant and supple in style, endowed with a superb fresh and distinguished aromatic palette, less concentrated but with good length, this Côte-Rôtie will reveal its true dimension at the table, with supreme elegance. Depending on the vintage, the Côte-Rôtie can age beautifully for 10 to 15 years. In addition to its Côte-Rôtie cuvée, the JASMIN estate produces an IGP des Collines rhodaniennes cuvée, "La Chevalière", made from Syrah. "La Chevalière" reveals a smoky nose with a beautiful depth of dark fruit, while its palate is well dense and its finish tender and fruity. A fine achievement to accompany a meat dish. The quality-to-price ratio is excellent, and one can therefore only recommend discovering the wines of Domaine Jasmin without delay.
