In just a few years, the estate has gone from obscurity to the spotlight, and now all knowledgeable enthusiasts vie for Eric Pfifferling's wines, whose production has continued to improve. Until 2002, Eric Pfifferling was in fact a beekeeper and winemaker, but he brought his grapes to the cooperative. Then the severe floods of 2002 swept away his hives, and he decided to leave the cooperative cellar and sign his first L'Anglore cuvées. He chose organic cultivation (according to ECOCERT standards) by abandoning chemical treatments. The soil is worked to preserve life and balance between "vines" and "weeds," and adapted to each terroir as well as climatic conditions. The vines are mainly planted with grenache, cinsault, clairette, carignan, mourvèdre, syrah, bourboulenc. His 2 sons having since joined him, the Domaine de l'Anglore has continued its development, and even though it is located mainly in AOC Tavel (AOC exclusively reserved for Rhône rosé), the estate's red wines are produced in Vin de France and Lirac. Harvesting is done by hand and grapes are placed in crates. After a maceration period, they are vinified in whole bunches by carbonic maceration. The wines obtained are neither filtered nor mechanically pumped in order to respect and highlight their natural and living characteristics. His low yields do not prevent him from producing perfectly balanced rosé wines, sometimes considered the most beautiful rosés in France. Far from the pale rosés of Provence, Tavel from Domaine de l'Anglore is perfectly adapted to its sandy-silty terroirs, with a very particular robe tending toward a light ruby red. Gourmet but subtle and substantial, Tavel de l'Anglore is singular, neither red nor rosé, the color of clarets in fact, but when you taste it, you can only embrace it: it is dense and deep, but also extremely fresh. This Tavel rosé can be kept for 2 to 4 years. The Nizon Cuvée is made with a base of century-old Grenache Noir vines as well as a little Cinsault, Clairette and Aramon, and the vinification is done in whole bunches, under CO², then in concrete tanks or demi-muids and with very little sulfur before bottling. We can say that l'Anglore offers fine and expressive cuvées, essential for lovers of natural wine and gastronomic rosé.
