A Corsican estate rooted in the Taravo Valley, committed since 2000 to biodynamic viticulture and the preservation of indigenous grape varieties.
- Terroir: Northwest-facing granitic sands, where Barbarossa develops a fresh, mineral expression.
- Winemaking: Hand harvesting, double sorting, and the traditional method, with fermentation in large oak casks, aging in casks, and further maturation in bottle.
Tasting notes for Domaine Comte Abbatucci Abbatucci Empire Extra Brut 2022
In the glass: Fine, steady bubbles with a delicate texture.
On the nose: A complex, fresh, and precise aromatic expression, followed by a mineral nuance reminiscent of the Corsican terroir’s granitic sands.
On the palate: Silky, lively bubbles are supported by crisp acidity, chalky tension, and a saline finish, with the purity of a low-dosage Extra Brut.
Serving: At 8–10°C, in a sparkling wine glass wide enough to preserve the finesse of the bubbles and the length of the aromas.
2022 vintage
This vintage expresses the cuvée in a fresh, lively style, in keeping with its Extra Brut dosage and aging in large oak casks.
- Aging potential: Enjoy from 2026 to 2030; store under suitable conditions, away from light and temperature fluctuations.
