The Domaine d'Auvenay Meursault Chaumes des Perrières 2000, a Chardonnay aged in barrels, draws its character from the clay-limestone soils of Meursault. Candied fruits, chalky minerality, and a silky palate make it an age-worthy wine (10 years+), ideal with noble fish or shellfish.
Nestled in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, this family estate embodies the exacting standards and rarity of great Burgundy wines.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Meursault hills, where Chardonnay draws its chalky minerality and depth.
- Vinification: Biodynamic approach, patient barrel ageing for cuvées of remarkable purity and tension.
Tasting notes for Domaine d'Auvenay Meursault Chaumes des Perrières 2000
To the eye: Golden robe with old gold highlights, of a silky and slightly unctuous density, betraying an accomplished ripeness.
On the nose: Aromas of candied yellow fruits (apricot, mirabelle plum), evolving towards notes of acacia honey, beeswax, and a saline touch reminiscent of sun-warmed flint.
On the palate: Velvety yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that stretches into a saline and persistent finish.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2000
