This Meursault les Luchets 2006 from Domaine Roulot, made from Chardonnay grown on chalky soils, offers notes of citrus and roasted hazelnut. Its palate, both rich and taut, captivates with its balance. To be cellared for 10 years, it pairs elegantly with fish and poultry in sauce.
Domaine Roulot
Heir to a family tradition rooted in Meursault, Domaine Roulot embodies the demands of an exceptional terroir and the pursuit of a pure expression of Chardonnay.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, where the Meursault Premier Cru wines reveal a chalky minerality and saline tension.
- Vinification: Barrel aging for measured oxidation, preserving freshness while sculpting silky, precise textures.
Tasting notes for Domaine Roulot Meursault les Luchets 2006
To the eye: A golden robe with pale highlights, of crystalline clarity and an unctuous texture, like a veil of liquid silk.
On the nose: Aromas of candied citrus — bitter orange and citron — mingle with notes of roasted hazelnut, acacia honey, and a saline touch reminiscent of the iodine-tinged air of limestone cliffs.
On the palate: A rich and generous attack, carried by a lively acidity that stretches the palate toward a chalky minerality; the finish, long and slightly bitter, evokes orange peel and leaves a persistent saline impression.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a wide, flared Burgundy glass to fully release its complex aromas.
Vintage 2006
A vintage in which the maturity of late-harvested grapes achieved a balance between richness and freshness, in a style that is both generous and precise.
- Aging potential: Drink until 2026; store in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
