Chantal Lescure Pommard Les Vaumuriens 2021
The Chantal Lescure estate, based in Nuits-Saint-Georges in Burgundy, was founded in 1975 by Chantal Lescure and her husband Xavier Machard de Gramont, and is now run by their sons Aymeric and Thibault, with cellar master François Chavériat’s expertise. Spanning 19 certified organic hectares, this domain excels in the Pommard appellation, particularly on the Les Vaumuriens plot with its deep clay-limestone soils. The Pommard Les Vaumuriens 2021 cuvée, a still red wine, is crafted entirely from Pinot Noir, vinified in stainless steel tanks and aged for 18 months in oak barrels.
On tasting, this wine presents an intense ruby hue and a powerful nose of black cherry, blackberry, and gentle spices, with an earthy hint. On the palate, it delivers a robust texture, structured tannins, and a lingering mineral finish. Perfect with beef bourguignon or a matured cheese like Comté, the Chantal Lescure Pommard Les Vaumuriens 2021 captivates with its depth and Burgundian elegance.
