The Chantal Lescure estate, nestled in the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges in the heart of Burgundy, is a family winery established in 1975 by Chantal Lescure, now carried forward by her sons Aymeric and Thibault, with cellar master François Chavériat’s expertise. Across 19 organic hectares, this domain shines in the Pommard 1er Cru appellation, particularly on Les Bertins, a one-hectare plot with rich limestone soils. The Pommard 1er Cru Les Bertins 2021 cuvée, a still red wine, is crafted entirely from Pinot Noir, vinified in stainless steel tanks and matured for 18 months in oak barrels.
On tasting, this wine boasts a deep ruby hue and an intense bouquet of blackberry, violet, and pepper, with woody nuances. On the palate, it reveals a dense texture, firm yet silky tannins, and a long finish, lifted by mineral and fruity notes. Ideal with a veal chop with morels or a cheese like Chaource, the Chantal Lescure Pommard 1er Cru Les Bertins 2021 blends robustness and Burgundian elegance.
