Château Coutet 2007, Premier Cru Classé of Barsac, comes from clay-limestone soils. Blended from Sémillon (75%), Sauvignon Blanc (23%) and Muscadelle (2%), it reveals aromas of candied orange and honey. On the palate, roundness and mineral freshness harmonize. Perfect until 2045 with foie gras or blue cheese.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Barsac, where the art of blending has been passed down since the 17th century.
- Terroir : 40 hectares of clay-limestone and gravelly soils, bathed by the Ciron and the Garonne, the cradle of the great sweet wines of Sauternes.
- Vinification : Parcel selection, gentle pressing and barrel ageing to preserve the fruity purity and chalky minerality.
Tasting notes for the wine Château Coutet Coutet 2007
To the eye – A golden robe with amber highlights, dense and silky, like liquid honey catching the light.
On the nose – Aromas of candied orange peel blossom into notes of gingerbread, beeswax and a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate – The attack is fleshy, wrapped in a lively acidity that carries flavors of honey, dried apricot and gentle spices, before a long, mineral finish marked by elegant tension.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a Bordeaux-style white wine glass, to concentrate the aromas without altering their freshness.
Vintage 2007
A vintage in which the gentle autumn warmth favoured an exceptional concentration of the grapes, without excess sugar.
- Ageing potential : To be cellared until 2045 in a cellar at a stable temperature (12–14°C) and away from light.
