Gosset 1986, a vintage champagne from the chalky soils of Aÿ, reveals aromas of candied fruit and brioche. Taut yet silky on the palate, it combines freshness and minerality. Ideal for special occasions, it pairs with fish and aged cheeses.
Founded in Aÿ in 1584, the Champagne house Gosset embodies a family winemaking heritage and an unwavering loyalty to its terroir.
- Terroir : Chalky and limestone soils of the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs give the wines distinctive minerality and elegant tension.
- Winemaking : Traditional method, fermentation in oak barrels for aromatic complexity, and minimal dosage to preserve the purity of the fruit.
Tasting notes for Gosset 1986
Appearance – A golden color with amber highlights, a silky texture and crystal-clear brilliance, revealing a maturity mellowed by time.
On the nose – Aromas of candied fruit (apricot, quince), acacia honey and roasted hazelnut, with a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray, all wrapped in chalky minerality.
On the palate – A lively, precise opening, driven by taut acidity and a velvety texture, with notes of toasted brioche and candied citrus zest leading to a long finish marked by lingering salinity.
Serve at 10–12°C in a Champagne flute or white wine glass to fully release its aromas.
