The Sainte Anne Brut cuvée from Chartogne-Taillet expresses the chalky terroirs of Merfy. Blending Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and aged in stainless steel and oak barrels, this champagne reveals notes of pear and citrus. Its lively, mineral character and silky palate pair well with seafood or creamy cheeses.
A family estate rooted in Merfy, where a winemaking heritage meets a tireless pursuit of pure terroir expression.
- Terroir: The chalky and sandy soils of the Montagne de Reims shape wines of vibrant minerality and rare elegance.
- Winemaking: Respect for natural cycles, fermentation with indigenous yeasts and careful aging in stainless steel and oak barrels preserve the fruit’s tension.
Tasting notes for Chartogne-Taillet Sainte Anne Brut
Appearance – Pale gold with green highlights and a fine, persistent mousse, like liquid silk.
On the nose – Aromas of crisp apple and Williams pear, followed by a touch of toasted brioche, fresh almond and subtle chalky salinity evoking the subsoil of Merfy.
On the palate – A silky, taut texture supported by lively acidity and chalky minerality, with notes of candied citrus and red berries; the long, precise finish leaves an elegant saline impression.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a champagne flute or white wine glass to release its full complexity.
