Tasting notes for Château Montrose 2006 To the eye: A deep garnet-red robe with tawny highlights, dense and silky, revealing a generous substance and beautiful maturity. On the nose: First aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by notes of cedar, blonde tobacco and a touch of graphite, all underlined by a subtle iodized salinity. On the palate: A frank and fleshy attack, carried by velvety yet firm tannins, a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that stretches into a long and persistent finish, marked by sweet spices. Serve between 17 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
