Château Montrose Nestled in the heart of Saint-Estèphe, this iconic estate embodies the excellence of great Bordeaux wines, shaped by an exceptional terroir and an uninterrupted winemaking tradition since the 18th century. - Terroir: Deep gravels and calcareous clays of the Médoc, lending the wines a mineral structure and a unique tannic elegance. - Vinification: A precise blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, aged with patience to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of tertiary aromas.
Tasting notes for Château Montrose 1975 - To the eye: A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, dense and slightly veiled by time, betraying a silky texture and generous substance. - On the nose: An enchanting bouquet where notes of blonde tobacco and aged leather emerge first, followed by damp undergrowth, black truffle and a saline touch reminiscent of the estuary spray. - On the palate: A velvety attack, carried by well-integrated yet still present tannins, a lively acidity supporting aromas of candied red fruits, liquorice and soft spices, leading to a long and mineral finish marked by a hint of graphite. To be served between 16 and 18°C, in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1975 A classic Médoc vintage, where grape ripeness and a dry summer gave birth to wines of great harmony, now having reached full maturity. - Ageing potential: Although already at its peak, this wine can still be kept for 5 to 10 years under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and absence of light).
