Château Rayas
A family estate rooted in the sandy soils of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where Grenache flourishes in cuvées of rare elegance.
- Terroir: the sandy, poor soils of the appellation, shaping wines of airy minerality and vibrant freshness.
- Vinification: whole-cluster harvesting, natural fermentation in concrete tanks, and aging in century-old large oak casks for a pure expression of the grape variety.
Tasting notes for Château Rayas Rayas 2013
To the eye: a deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: fresh morello cherry, wild blackberry, a hint of kirsch and liquorice, lifted by a saline edge and chalky minerality.
On the palate: a lively and precise attack, velvety-soft tannins, taut acidity, and a long finish with spiced and floral accents.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy-style glass to release its full complexity.
