The Rayas 1998 blanc from Château Rayas is born on the sandy soils of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. A blend of Grenache Blanc and Clairette, it captivates with its lively freshness and aromas of exotic fruits and white flowers, enhanced by a saline minerality. On the palate, its silky texture and elegant tension make it a precise wine, ideal for aging. To be savored with shellfish or aged cheeses.
A family estate rooted in the sands of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where the Rhône heritage is perpetuated with understated elegance.
- Terroir: sandy soils and rounded pebbles of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, lending the wines a distinctive minerality and rare freshness.
- Vinification: traditional and sparing approach, prioritizing the pure expression of the grape variety and the vintage, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Château Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 1998
To the eye: a golden robe with pale highlights, of silky clarity, already hinting at an unctuous texture and harmonious maturity.
On the nose: notes of ripe exotic fruits — candied mango and pineapple — intertwine with floral touches of linden and acacia, before giving way to a subtle chalky salinity, the signature of the sandy terroir.
On the palate: a lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity that balances a generous body, while a saline minerality extends the finish into a persistent and elegant length.
Serve at 12–14°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
