This sweet wine, crafted from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, captivates with its aromas of candied fruits and its silky texture. Perfect with foie gras or desserts, it can be kept until 2035.
A historic estate rooted in the heart of Sauternes, where the excellence of sweet wines has been passed down since the 17th century.
- Terroir: 84 hectares of Garonne gravels, rich in precious stones, on the slopes of Bommes – a unique soil that imparts minerality and complexity to the Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle grape varieties.
- Vinification: Rigorous selection of botrytized grapes, fermentation and ageing in barrels for an expression that is both powerful and refined.
Tasting notes for Château de Rayne Vigneau Rayne Vigneau 2003
To the eye – A golden robe with amber highlights, dense and silky, like liquid honey capturing the light.
On the nose – Aromas of candied citrus marmalade, roasted apricot and ripe mango, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of beeswax, evoking the sun-drenched sweetness of the terroir.
On the palate – A smooth and velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity that balances the richness, while a chalky minerality extends the finish into a long aromatic persistence.
Serve between 8 and 10°C, in a white wine glass of the Bordeaux type to unlock its full complexity.
