The Château Rieussec 2007, Premier Cru Classé from Sauternes, comes from gravelly soils. A blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, it reveals aromas of fig and candied apricot, aged 26 months in barrels. The palate, silky and mineral, balances sweetness and freshness. Ideal until 2030 with foie gras or fruity desserts.
Nestled in the heart of Sauternes, this historic estate, classified Premier Cru in 1855, embodies the excellence of Bordeaux sweet wines under the stewardship of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) since 1984.
- Terroir : Gravelly and clay-limestone soils, bathed by the morning mists of the Garonne and the Ciron, which encourage the development of noble rot (Botrytis cinerea).
- Vinification : A rigorous parcel selection and 26 months of aging in barrels to reveal the complexity and purity of the fruit.
Tasting notes for Château Rieussec 2007
To the eye – A deep gold robe with amber highlights, dense and luminous, heralding an unctuous texture.
On the nose – A generous bouquet where candied apricot, ripe fig and candied citrus zest intermingle, lifted by a touch of acacia honey and a subtle chalky minerality.
On the palate – The attack is silky, carried by a lively acidity that balances the richness of the candied fruits; the finish, long and saline, leaves an impression of purity and elegant tension.
Serve at 8-10°C in a white wine glass of the "Sauternes" type to enhance its aromas.
Vintage 2007
A vintage marked by early ripeness and ideal climatic conditions for the development of noble rot, offering a rare balance between freshness and concentration.
- Aging potential : To be kept for 15 to 20 years in a cool cellar (12-14°C) away from light, to allow its tertiary aromas to blossom.
