The Thomas Morey Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Truffière 2022, a Chardonnay aged in barrels, is born on a chalky terroir. Notes of citrus, white flowers and wet stone. Taut, mineral and silky palate. To keep or enjoy with fish, shellfish or cheeses.
Heir to a long winemaking tradition in Burgundy, Domaine Thomas Morey perpetuates a family know-how rooted in the hillsides of Puligny-Montrachet.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and marly soils of the Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru appellation, where altitude and exposure shape wines of chalky minerality and taut elegance.
- Vinification: Aged in French oak barrels for a precise expression of Chardonnay, combining purity of fruit and mineral complexity without excess wood.
To the eye: Golden robe with green highlights, of silky clarity and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of lime zest and grapefruit, followed by notes of white flowers (hawthorn, acacia) and a saline touch reminiscent of gunflint, with a hint of acacia honey in the background.
On the palate: Silky texture and vibrant tension, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that stretches into a saline and persistent finish, marked by nuances of candied citrus and flint.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a white Burgundy wine glass to reveal its precision.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness and preserved freshness, ideal for expressing the characteristic mineral tension of La Truffière.
- Ageing potential: To be kept 8 to 12 years in a cool cellar (12-14°C) and away from light, to allow its complexity to fully develop.
