The Bourgogne Chardonnay 2022 from Domaine Thomas Morey draws its minerality from the clay-limestone soils of Chassagne-Montrachet. Aged in barrels (20% new) and stainless steel, it reveals notes of white flowers and vanilla. On the palate, vibrant and precise. Ideal with seafood. Serve at 10–12°C. Ageing potential: 3–5 years.
Nestled in the heart of Chassagne-Montrachet, this family estate embodies the discreet elegance of great Burgundy wines. Two generations of expertise are passed down here, combining respect for the terroir with precise winemaking.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils on the slopes of Chassagne-Montrachet, where Chardonnay draws its minerality and tension.
- Vinification: Spontaneous fermentation, aged in barrels (20% new) and stainless steel tanks to balance freshness and complexity.
To the eye: Pale yellow robe with golden highlights, of silky clarity and chalky brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of white flowers and crisp apple, followed by hints of ripe pear, candied lemon, and a saline touch reminiscent of limestone soils.
On the palate: Elegant and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and persistent minerality, with notes of green apple and citrus, leading to a long, saline finish.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a white Burgundy wine glass.
A vintage marked by generous ripeness and preserved freshness, offering a perfect balance between fruit and minerality.
- Ageing potential: 3 to 5 years, to be stored in a cool place away from light.
