François Carillon Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières 2023: Chardonnay on clay-limestone terroir. Notes of honeysuckle and white fruits, aged in barrels (22% new). Lively, saline and chalky palate. To drink now or keep for 5–8 years, with fish or aged cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, this family estate perpetuates a viticultural heritage where precision and respect for the terroir guide every vintage.
- Terroir: Chardonnay vines flourish on the clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, conferring a chalky minerality and a distinctive elegance to the wines.
- Vinification: A measured ageing in oak barrels (22% new) preserves the purity of the fruit, while malolactic fermentation in barrel refines the silky texture.
Eye: Pale robe with golden highlights, of crystalline clarity and an almost unctuous texture.
Nose: Aromas of honeysuckle and fresh citrus intertwine with notes of ripe white fruits, underlined by a saline touch and a chalky minerality.
Palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a silky texture; the finish, long and mineral, leaves an impression of purity and balance.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
A vintage marked by harmonious ripeness, where freshness and concentration combine to offer a wine of great precision.
- Ageing potential: To be kept for 8 to 12 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
