All Clos Joliette wines: buy at the best price

Everything about Clos Joliette is extraordinary. This small estate of less than 2 hectares, set in the natural amphitheater of Chapelle de Rousse, faces due east to catch the morning light, as the best Côte d’Or estates do. The vines are nearly 90 years old. Its owner keeps yields exceptionally low (around 10 hl/ha) and grows just one grape variety: Petit Manseng. As a result, only 1,000 bottles are produced each year. They are not all released at once, but offered a few at a time at the owner’s discretion. As for aging, the wines spend 3 to 4 years in barrels previously used for several vintages at Château de Fargues (Sauternes). Don’t assume, though, that the estate produces only sweet wines. Sugar levels vary from year to year, with dry wines made in some vintages.
