All wines from Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru in Burgundy
Chapelle-Chambertin, located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits, is an exceptional Grand Cru among the nine Grands Crus of this emblematic Burgundy village. Spanning 5.48 hectares, this vineyard produces exclusively red wines from Pinot Noir, in accordance with the AOC established in 1937. Nestled between 240 and 280 meters altitude, the terroir benefits from ideal eastern exposure and varied geology: rich clay-limestone soils at the bottom of the slope, on Oligocene limestone, and leaner soils at the top, combining brown earth, silt, and gravelly scree from the Lavaux combe. This diversity gives Chapelle-Chambertin unique complexity, characterized by aromas of red fruits (cherry, raspberry), violet, rose, sweet spices, evolving toward notes of undergrowth, leather, or truffle after aging. On the palate, these wines captivate with their finesse, silky tannins, and balance, offering aging potential of 15 to 25 years for great vintages. The appellation's name derives from an ancient chapel, Notre-Dame-de-Bèze.
