Wines from Domaine La Porte Saint Jean: buy at the best price
Sylvain Dittière established his estate La Porte Saint Jean south of Saumur, in the Loire in 2010. Not yet 30 years old, this winemaker had already accumulated remarkable viticultural experience: Domaine de L'Ecu (Loire), Domaine Marc Tempé (Alsace), Domaine Gauby (Roussillon), Château Yvonne et Thierry Germain (Loire) in Saumur/Saumur Champigny and also Le Clos Rougeard. Sylvain is moreover very close to the legendary Clos Rougeard, as his wife Pauline is none other than the daughter of Françoise and Charly Foucault, and therefore the sister of Antoine Foucault, himself at the helm of Domaine du Collier. In 2010, La Porte Saint Jean comprised 3 hectares under tenancy and purchased grapes. From 2011 onwards, Sylvain Dittière purchased his first plot, and today La Porte Saint Jean totals 8.5 ha of its own — a meteoric rise and ascent among the great names of the Loire.
