Based in Pernand-Vergelesses, at the foot of the prestigious Corton hill, Domaine Rapet Père et Fils is one of the oldest winegrowing families in the Côte d'Or, with a presence attested since 1765. Across 20 hectares spread between Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Chorey-lès-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Beaune, Vincent Rapet and his son Robin produce around twenty cuvées ranging from Bourgogne Aligoté to the grands crus of Corton, including 2.5 hectares of Corton-Charlemagne. Certified Haute Valeur Environnementale at the highest level since 2018, the domaine combines Burgundian tradition with a modern winery, bearing a recognizable signature: precision, uprightness, vibrant fruit and minerality.

The Rapet estate boasts a fine heritage of 21.75 ha of vines, including 12 ha of red Burgundy and 9.25 ha of white Burgundy. The range of wines produced by the Rapet estate is quite broad and highly representative of the terroirs under cultivation. Vincent Rapet produces wines in a modern style, including 5 Premiers Crus in the Pernand-Vergelesses AOC (Clos du Village, En Caradeux, Sous Frétille, Ile de Vergelesses, Les Vergelesses), and 3 Villages (Pernand les Combottes, Devant les Cloux and Belles Filles). A Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Fourneaux and 4 Beaune 1ers Crus (Bressandes, Cent Vignes, Clos du Roi, Grèves). Rounding out the range are an Aloxe-Corton village wine and, at the very top, the 3 Grand Crus that crown the Rapet range: the superb Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru in white, and in red: the Corton Pougets Grand Cru and the Corton Grand Cru. The prices of wines across the Rapet range remain quite reasonable given the outstanding quality of the estate's wines. To make great wines, one needs fine grapes, and it is fair to say that Vincent Rapet leaves nothing to chance in this regard — for example through integrated pest management, to reduce phytosanitary treatments as much as possible (the Rapet estate holds the Haute Valeur Environnementale certification); vineyard work such as bud removal, trellising and leaf-thinning along the row are carried out with great care so that the grape clusters benefit as fully as possible from the sun's rays. Vincent Rapet does not seek quantity but rather quality, and his whites are aged in 350-litre barrels so that oxygen exchange is limited and the wines can better preserve their minerality. The Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru from the Rapet estate bears the unmistakable character of its terroir: flint, owing to its position on the bedrock. With a beautiful golden-hued robe, this wine is full, heady and full-bodied, yet very pure and precise with beautifully harmonious fruit. The finish stretches into a delicate, fresh and saline length, and this wine delivers true gustatory pleasure. The fullness of such a great wine is reached after 7 to 10 years, revealing its aromatic richness of honey and toasted almonds, accompanied by intense and exquisite mineral touches. The Corton Pougets Grand Cru from Rapet presents a deep purple colour. Full and expressive, its bouquet opens on fruity notes of blueberry, redcurrant and kirsch, as well as floral accents such as violet. The wine then evolves towards notes of undergrowth, gentle spices and liquorice. Solid and opulent on the palate, the Corton Pougets is powerful and full-bodied, structured and generously expressive, with a fairly rich yet firm body. It requires 5 to 9 years of cellaring to fully blossom.
