All wines from Pernand Vergelesses appellation in Burgundy
The Pernand-Vergelesses appellation, located in the Côte de Beaune in Côte-d'Or (Burgundy), is a communal appellation recognized since 1936, renowned for its red wines (Pinot Noir) and white wines (Chardonnay). It covers an area of 158.52 hectares, of which 80.10 hectares are dedicated to red wines (including 43.10 hectares of Premiers Crus) and 78.42 hectares to white wines (including 40.17 hectares of Premiers Crus). Its 8 Premiers Crus climats include Creux de la Net, En Caradeux, Île des Vergelesses, Les Vergelesses and Les Fichots for reds (and sometimes whites), and Sous Frétille, Clos Berthet and Clos du Village for whites only. Backing onto the Montagne de Corton, this appellation benefits from a clay-limestone and marl terroir, shared with the famous Grands Crus Corton, Corton-Charlemagne and Charlemagne. Pernand-Vergelesses wines are distinguished by their elegance: fruity, fleshy reds and refined, mineral whites.
