Wine 1952 Bourgogne

The 1952 vintage in Burgundy establishes itself as a good, classic and structured year, born of a healthy season that yielded ripe grapes endowed with a fine tannic backbone. The style favours firmness over roundness. The reds (Pinot Noir) prove colourful, full-bodied and deep, sometimes austere in their youth but destined for long aging, with fine expressions in the Côte de Nuits (Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny). The whites (Chardonnay), more restrained, show a classic and balanced profile, from Meursault to Puligny-Montrachet and Chablis. The aging potential of the reds was real. Today, the rare perfectly preserved cuvées have shed their framework, but the individual bottle has become decisive. Between the weak 1951 and the charming 1953, the 1952 remains a vintage defined by structure, more convincing in red.
