The Cornas Reynard 2021 by Thierry Allemand is a Syrah from the steep slopes of Reynard. Old vines (60 years), ripe fruits, pepper and chalky minerality. Naturally vinified, it combines elegance and complexity. Ideal with game, to cellar for 10 years.
Nestled at the heart of Cornas, this family estate embodies the demands of an exceptional terroir and the transmission of artisanal expertise.
- Terroir : The steep slopes of Reynard, south-facing, reveal granitic and schistose soils, the mineral signature of Syrah from the northern Rhône.
- Vinification : Natural methods – whole clusters, extended aging on the lees – for wines of remarkable purity and tension.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Thierry Allemand Cornas Reynard 2021
- In the glass : A deep red robe with violet highlights, dense and silky.
- On the nose : First notes of wild blackberry and fresh violet, then deeper aromas of liquorice, cocoa and a saline touch reminiscent of granite warmed by the sun.
- On the palate : A smooth yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and elegant finish, marked by sweet spices and a hint of graphite.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a red Burgundy-style wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 2021
A vintage in which the freshness and precision of Cornas Syrah express themselves with rare elegance, despite contrasting climatic conditions.
- Aging potential : To be cellared for 10 to 15 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light, to allow its complexity to fully blossom.
