The Château Beauséjour (Duffau-Lagarrosse) 1994, Premier Grand Cru Classé B from Saint-Émilion, comes from clay-limestone soils. Blended from Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it captivates with its aromas of black cherries and spices. Aged in oak barrels, its balanced and silky palate is truly charming. Ideal with red meats.
Nestled on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, this family estate embodies the excellence of an exceptional terroir, shaped by generations of expertise.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone soils and molasse from the Fronsadais, fully south-facing – a mineral setting that imparts tension and purity to the wines.
- Vinification : Aged in Merrain oak barrels, hand-harvested and assembled in the Bordeaux style for cuvées that are both full-bodied and precise.
Tasting notes for Château Beauséjour (Duffau-Lagarrosse) Beauséjour Duffau Lagarrosse 1994
To the eye – A deep garnet robe of silky density, in which the maturity of the tannins can already be discerned.
On the nose – First notes of black cherry and wild blackberry, followed by a hint of liquorice, then a mineral breath reminiscent of damp chalk, before opening up to nuances of truffle and undergrowth.
On the palate – A velvety yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a saline and persistent finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
