The Belargus Quarts de Chaume Rouères 2022 (37.5 cl), a sweet Chenin Blanc from Domaine Belargus, born on the schists of Grand Cru Quarts de Chaume. Les Rouères gives it honey, candied fruit and a chalky minerality. Silky and fresh on the palate, ideal with desserts or foie gras. Aging potential: 10 years.
Nestled in the heart of Anjou, Domaine Belargus embodies the alliance of an exceptional terroir and biodynamic viticulture, guided by a quest for purity and precision.
- Terroir : The vines take root in the schists and chalky soils of Quarts de Chaume, Grand Cru of the Loire, where Chenin Blanc reveals all its minerality and complexity.
- Winemaking : A meticulous elaboration, combining hand harvesting and barrel ageing, to produce wines that are both taut and silky — a faithful reflection of their origin.
Appearance – A golden robe with amber reflections, of silky density, like liquid honey capturing the light.
Nose – First notes of ripe quince and white peach, followed by a hint of linden blossom and beeswax, before a subtle salinity comes to balance the aromatic richness.
Palate – A smooth yet lively texture, carried by a precise acidity that underscores aromas of candied fruit and flint, leading to a long and mineral finish.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage marked by generous ripeness, where the summer heat concentrated the sugars while preserving a beautiful, tangy freshness.
- Aging potential : To be cellared for 10 to 15 years in a cool, humid cellar, away from light.
